Hot Spot: Bermuda

Bermuda is a classic cruise spot for travelers looking to soak up those last rays of sun before winter arrives. With its pink-sand beaches and sparkling blue water, it's no wonder that Bermuda repeatedly ranks high on travelers' "must see" lists. Ships dock at ports in Hamilton, King's Wharf or St. George's. Here are five things to do in and around Bermuda:

Boogie on the beach The 13th annual Bermuda Music Festival is a four-night outdoor concert series, beginning Wednesday. The four-night outdoor concert series features performances by such big-name artists as Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Aaron Neville, The Whispers and UB40.

Have some laughs Take in a show at Bootsie's Comedy Club, where patrons can win back the $25-$50 admission fee in the nightly "Joke of the Night" contest. This two-hour show is loved by locals and tourists alike.

Think pink Bermuda is famous for its beaches and pink sand. Choose from a variety of tours to explore the local scenery, including glass-bottom boat rides and snorkeling trips that provide an up-close-and-personal view of the reefs.

Grab your clubs In addition to its beaches, Bermuda is renowned for its fabulous golf courses. Jack Nicklaus has called the Port Royal Golf Course one of the world's best public courses.

Check out history St. Peter's Church in St. George is the oldest Anglican church in the Western hemisphere. If you prefer the outdoors, try the Bermuda National Trust Gold Tour, which showcases many of the island's unaltered historical wetlands, complete with rare and exotic plant life.
