Ultimate Cloud Nine at Bedford Springs

What's the deal? For $999, receive three-nights' accommodations plus a $999 spa credit at Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford, Pa., beginning Nov. 1. The historic property reopened last summer after a multimillion-dollar renovation and has a 30,000-square-foot spa.

What's the savings? Bedford also has a special anniversary rate of $125 per night available during this period, so a savvy traveler could get three nights for around $500. But there would be no facials, pedicures or massages. If you spent an additional $499 on spa services, it still wouldn't equal the credit being offered in this package. Based on this, I'd say the savings are about $500.

What's the catch? Guests have to stay mid-week, Sunday-Thursday, and taxes and gratuity are not included. You have to enjoy spa treatments since you'll probably have to go every day during your visit to get your money's worth. (Sounds so terribly difficult, right?)
