American Open Canoe/ Kayak Races
Where: Adventure Sports Center International, 250 Adventure Sports Way, McHenryWhen: Friday and Saturday
What: American Open – Canoe/Kayak World Series Final. Features top athletes, including members of the U.S. Canoe/Kayak 2008 Olympic team. Qualification rounds will be held Friday, beginning at 9 a.m.; semi-finals and finals start at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Live music and after-party will follow at the Mountain State Brewery on Sang Run Road. ASCI will have rafting available on Sunday.
How much: Visitors can view qualifying events on Friday for free. Tickets are $10 per car on Saturday. Amateurs are welcome to join the races. Fee is $90 per entry. Contact Nancy Beakes at 301-387-3250 or nbeakes@adventure sportscenter.com.
