Man charged after violent drunken-driving arrest
OCEAN CITY State police said an Ocean Pines man has been charged with attacking a trooper who arrested him on drunken-driving charges last week. Police said Rodney McGill, 49, screamed obscenities as the trooper who arrested him the morning of Oct. 29 on Sunset Avenue in Ocean City. Police said McGill tried to head-butt and kick the trooper, who suffered minor cuts to his hand during the struggle. McGill was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, driving under the influence and related traffic offenses.
